Through the Fee Waiver Scheme, students from low-income families can get their tuition fees waived for programs like Higher Secondary, B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, and postgraduate courses (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com). To avail of this, you must apply through the SAMARTH portal.
How to Apply for College Admission Through SAMARTH
Starting from the 2023–2024 academic session, Assam has ditched the old admission process. If you’ve passed your Higher Secondary exams, here’s how to apply for a bachelor’s degree via SAMARTH:
- Register: Head to the SAMARTH portal and sign up with your basic details. Make sure your name and other info match your Class X Board Marksheet.
- Fill in Details: Enter your personal and academic information.
- Upload Documents: Submit required documents (see list below).
- Submit: Once you’ve filled everything out, submit your application. You’ll get an acknowledgment receipt.
- Print: Save a copy of the submitted form and receipt for your records.
The process happens in two phases:
- Phase 1: Register and complete your profile starting April 11, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
- Phase 2: After Class 12 results are out, choose your preferred colleges and programs. (You can still register during Phase 2 if you missed Phase 1.)
